Sim racing?
Sim racing?
Haha... that was the plan back then too... nice to see it hasn't changed.
I'm going to check into that cockpit you mentioned... the wheel and pedals should be here by Mon/Tues and we'll begin.
I'll follow up next week!
I noticed that on their site... they have fees for every track and car. We'll find out what happens... ACC first, but I think I'll stick with iracing for a while just to see how it goes. Really keen on getting back on the track at Daytona...
You can try racing for free with a few limited cars and tracks. After that, you'll have to purchase tracks and cars. They provide discounts when buying multiple at once.
I was just checking out this place and spotted the Trak Racer Stand. I think it fits the gaming chair I own—it's almost identical. I could then attach the flight sim mounts... Flight Sim Mounts aren't too expensive, and this seems to cover both racing and flying needs.
It's a much better platform for a Direct Drive wheel. It will be more stable than before.
My previous Next Level setup was similar. I began with a stand almost matching the one you mentioned, then added a seat mount (using a Buttkicker mount), a monitor, and a keyboard tray. Eventually, I built it all myself. They also offered it as a complete package.
Looks like we're all set to move forward. A sim racing and flight sim stand is priced at $250, which I'm excited about. The tracking data indicates the wheel and pedals were recorded on Monday, along with free gloves. 😄
... and you were correct.
I just bought ACC—it was actually free since MSI gave me 2x $20 in Steam credits for reviewing my motherboard and case. I set it up this morning... 4K... VSync at 60... every setting at the maximum, and I ran some practice sessions with my controller, staying locked in at 60 fps.
Excited to begin once the wheel and pedals arrive. The sim looks and sounds absolutely incredible. I haven't loaded it into VR yet, but I'll be doing that soon.
From what I heard, the VR support on it is a bit rough, but it functions. I believe you'll really like it.
