After installing a questionable USB PCIe card, strange events began occurring on my PC. I connected various devices such as the Razer BlackWidow Elite Razer Basilisk Ultimate (with its dock), a Razer mousepad, and a USB hub frequently during gameplay. Every single USB-powered gadget—even the RGB strips on my fans—would shut off briefly before restarting. By removing each USB device one by one, I identified that the dock was likely the culprit; it only caused problems when plugged in. Since I didn’t use the dock often, I assumed a hardware issue. Months later, after cleaning and reinstalling everything, I still faced the same problem. Two extra hubs and a stream deck appeared unexpectedly in Task Manager, along with a generic mass storage device in Device Manager. This issue persists even after removing storage devices from Device Manager. It seems my motherboard’s USB controller might be failing. Is there another way to diagnose it?
