Significant screen tearing and reduced frame rates are occurring.
I determined that upgrading my PC was necessary due to screen tearing issues with my previous system, leading me to purchase a new motherboard, graphics card, and central processing unit. Following assembly and initial boot, I continued to experience screen tearing and was unable to exceed a frame rate of 69 frames per second. My hardware specifications are as follows: Ryzen7 2700, RTX 2070, and MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard.
1920x1080 resolution is used by almost all games and many videos when viewed in full screen. I own a Ripjaw v series with 16 GB of RAM. I have updated all my drivers, but I haven't performed a clean install of Windows. It seems strange that I am experiencing the same issue I had before my upgrade. The only components that have changed are my HDD, SSD, and power supply unit (PSU), which is in poor condition. Could this PSU be affecting the problem?
What previous specifications did you have? What is the exact model of your power supply unit? It’s unlikely a weak power supply would cause your problems, usually you would see crashes or sudden shutdowns with a PSU issue.
