Significant performance decline occurs following CPU overclocking.
I increased the clock speed of my Ryzen 5 1600 and checked the benchmarks, which showed a decent improvement. However, when I tried to play a game, the frame rate dropped significantly—only 5 to 10 frames per second in Cyberpunk 2077, compared to a stable 60 FPS before the overclock. Resetting everything back to normal settings didn’t fix the issue, and even regular applications ran much slower. I set it to 3.7GHz at 1.3V, but it stayed hot (around 86°C) during Cinebench without throttling. Other titles are also slower than before, including CSGO and Witcher 3, but AC4 seems to perform better since it isn’t too CPU-intensive. What bothers me most is that performance was fine before, but now it’s noticeably worse even with the same default settings. If anyone can help pinpoint and resolve this problem, I’d really appreciate it.
Are you referring to 3.7 GHz or 3.7 MHz? The latter is similar to the ZX80's speed.
