Significant FPS reductions observed on the Strix 4090/14700k at 3440x1440 resolution
I managed to adjust a few settings last night. I turned off the Nvidia sound in Device Manager, disabled game mode, and turned off Windows HAGS. This improved my FPS in DayZ and kept the game running smoothly for over two hours without any drops. Before every 45 seconds I experienced stutters and drops. It looks like I might have resolved the issue, but I’ll continue testing after work. I also played Sea of Thieves, which ran much smoother, though I didn’t have much time to try it.
unless you're using audio through your monitor... check the device manager and turn off any NVIDIA sound devices. they often consume resources if left enabled.
hmm, yeah, that's why i was asking, doesn't seem to be a hardware issue at all... yet, yes, there's like a gazillion windows settings that can really mess you up, typically the ones that supposedly "improve performance" me, i have fast startup disabled, hibernation disabled, page file on auto, HAGS obviously turned *off*, BAR never enabled , xbox recording *off*, game mode *ON* because frankly i get better performance with it lol... windows defender *ON*... windows updates *OFF* (sledgehammer), basically just keep it simple... never any issues while gaming. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
