When running BF4, the issue could stem from BF4.exe or other processes consuming resources. Check the task manager to identify the exact culprit.

1.4GB for BF4? Not really using much, huh... Close all open/hidden apps, Chrome/Steam, most of the list can be turned off for testing,.. start playing BF4. It might be your own memory leak. Windows - The resource monitor memory tab/section gives more details, you should check that list or graph to see what’s consuming it.

Turn off Chrome while using BF4 or any other game. It seems Chrome is interfering with the game and possibly affecting other applications too.

Wait...FX8 on a low power phase board... 4+1 Speculation ahead.... You mentioned yourself, your board gets hot when you overclock it to a full 100Mhz. It’s possible the chipset VRM is throttling your CPU clocks a lot. A lot of low power phase boards do that with FX6300s, let alone FX8s. The temperatures would be better because it doesn’t run at its maximum clock speed all the time. How much heat does your chipset generate? (Don’t touch it—it could burn you, YES.. CAN GET THAT HOT). Try directing a fan toward your chipset (usually under the CPU, big heatsink?)—put a fan on it, near it, or blowing on it. That board and CPU... could very well be the problem.

It was also an option, but I think I should slow down the CPU. That’s not what I’m seeing, at least I don’t know.
