Hello, thank you for sharing your experience. I understand that English isn't my first language. My system runs Windows 10 64-bit with an Intel i9 processor, 12900K, Zotac Gaming RTX 3090, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM, and a Z690 motherboard. It has a Wi-Fi TOMAHAWK BIOS that was recently updated but hasn't resolved the issue.

The problem involves my monitor losing signal unexpectedly—especially when using Chrome or during games. My PC stays on even after losing the video signal, and I can still hear audio. I tried rebooting with the reset button on the case, but it doesn’t always fix it. Sometimes there are just a few signal drops, other times multiple, and I stop playing games altogether. It’s frustrating because my performance is severely affected.

For example, during a short period I saw over 100 FPS in Arma 3, then it dropped completely. The game didn’t optimize well for my specs, and the FPS rarely exceed 40. Even when idle, temperatures are high, and after about six minutes of playing, performance plummets. I don’t want to keep experiencing this instability, so I’m looking for a solution that avoids signal loss and maintains better performance.

Starting with GPU-Z, you're seeing your PCIe bus at 1.1 speed which is typical if your motherboard uses dynamic variable speed for efficiency. This might raise concerns if the speed remains unchanged during heavy usage. The Resizable BAR option is likely off—enable it for better performance and compatibility. Check your BIOS or manufacturer's guide for enabling this feature. Refer to the Sensors tab in GPU-z for more details. At the end of the list, you'll find a parameter called PerfCap; observe its value while stress-testing your GPU to identify constraints like thermal, clock, or power limits. This info helps pinpoint underperformance issues. Have a great day!

Updating the BIOS might have affected some configurations, I’ll check it further. I’ve experienced issues before the update too.

Agreed. That ParfCap chart would be very helpful for identifying your problems.

You're referring to the ParfCap reason during your stress test. It seems the system reported a thermal issue, which is unusual and might be linked to BIOS settings. Since fans didn't respond and the situation was abrupt, it could indeed be related to your BIOS configuration. For screenshots, it's best to capture them during the stress test itself rather than just while gaming, to ensure you have accurate evidence of the problem.

Playing Arma 3 at 20 frames per second is typical for your body temperature.

Do you possess all your window drivers? Have you experimented with changing the display port on the graphics card?

Does your PSU provide sufficient power?

Your PerfCap analysis points to Thermal Limit as the main concern. All other settings appear acceptable. Voltages remain consistent even when the system is under load, and the card consumes considerable power during that time. The fans also increase their speed simultaneously. When you mention CPU temperatures reaching 100°C instantly, are you referring to GPU temperatures? Your graphs show stable CPU readings, but I’ll discuss the GPU if needed. If your GPU temperature rises rapidly under load, it could indicate poor heat transfer—possibly due to a displaced cooler or dried thermal paste acting as an insulator. Replacing the cooler or reapplying thermal paste would resolve the issue. If you’re unsure about handling the repair, a professional shop can handle it easily, and the paste is inexpensive compared to labor. Good luck!
