I've encountered a comparable problem with my XMP setup. In my case, I used XMP (DOCP) but the motherboard disabled B-Die’s Gear Down Mode. When this setting was off, it imposed a strict timing rule on my RAM, requiring exactly one command per clock cycle instead of allowing a slight pause. This delay is typical—about 1.5 commands per second when CR is at 1, according to what I've learned. Memtest and Windows diagnostics passed, yet the system still crashes. These tools scan for memory errors by checking repeated patterns, but the real issue lies in the uneven scheduling of tasks on a module, similar to a delayed bus driver causing missed arrivals. The data doesn’t slip into memory patterns correctly; instead, it’s the timing that falters, like students arriving late before attendance is recorded. Aida64 stress test appears effective for timing concerns. It runs without a time limit, but I suggest trying 10 minutes to find an overclock range and an hour for stability testing (preferably with cheap power).

Thanks for the perspective, yes I understand what memtest does—it basically tests each cell individually. Aida64 seems intriguing, but I think it wouldn’t reveal defects directly; it’s more helpful for XMP profiles. For me, the main goal is usually to hit the DDR5 stick speed initially, since many boards don’t support it. Beyond that, I see its potential value.
