I recently installed a new PC early this year, and it functioned perfectly initially. At the start of June, after a Windows update, everything suddenly stopped working properly. Programs like Blender would crash unexpectedly, sometimes staying open for minutes and other times closing immediately after restarting. The browser also experienced random shutdowns, often displaying an error like "status_access_violation." The game crashes were also frequent, and after reviewing logs from Blender and games, the recurring error was "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION."
I've tried several solutions so far:
1. Reverted the Windows update – the problem persisted.
2. Ran Windows Memory Diagnose and MemTest86 – no issues found.
3. Executed system scans (Sfc /scannow, etc.) – no errors detected.
4. Performed stress tests on CPU and GPU – both completed without problems.
5. Cleaned fans, case, and ran stress tests – no crashes.
6. Checked CPU temperature with Intel tools – it spiked to +90°C, which is normal for an i9 processor; I also monitored the CPU via background sensors.
7. Ran a GPU stress test – everything worked fine.
8. Performed a clean boot – still faced the same issues.
9. Reset BIOS settings and removed XMP profile – this resolved the Kingdom game launch problem, but other games (Diablo, Blender) continued to crash.
10. Disabled XMP and rebooted – it helped Kingdom run without errors, though Diablo and others remained unstable.
Other observations:
- I suspect overheating might be the cause despite having liquid cooling; I cleaned fans and case and did stress tests, but nothing changed.
- The issue appeared after memory-related updates, suggesting a possible access violation or similar problem.
- No virus scans detected, so it's likely a hardware or software conflict.

So far, it’s been running smoothly for 4 hours with no crashes. most rams with early failures stem from undetected production issues and/or static discharge. RAMs are usually quite reliable, so I’d think it’s just poor manufacturing. However, I haven’t used DDR5 much yet, but they seem even more sensitive to production defects than older RAM types—like the earlier GPU and CPU releases if they’re good or not suitable for overclocking. That applies to DDR5 as well. I’d return the unit and get a replacement.
