The friends pc is experiencing random monitor shutdowns that require a full PC restart to fix. The system stays powered on, but the display fails to activate unless the entire machine is restarted. This suggests a hardware or power issue affecting the monitor connection.

Issue with the display cable? If rebooting the system isn't enough and you can't just reconnect the cable or toggle the monitor on/off, it might indicate a GPU problem rather than a monitor fault.

It's strange since everything has been functioning smoothly for a few days now.

A defective NVIDIA driver is causing this problem with certain GPUs and monitors when linked through Display Port. Ensure the GPU drivers are current.

I assembled the computer for him and pushed it to its limits at home; everything functioned flawlessly. When I arrived at his place, I continued testing with the AMD Adrenalin one.

For now, consider changing the signal output ports on the GPU and the monitor input. What @SpookyCitrus mentioned aligns completely with my thoughts.

Track "shuts down". Clarify if it completely cuts power or just turns off. Check for any display indicators like black screen or signal loss. Important to know whether it fully powers off now that it's in a new location with a different outlet. Be wary of the power cord and outlet connections.

He’s responding slowly, but the device indicates HDMI support without any output. The screen remains active yet nothing appears.
