shuts down the game Apex Legends
when entering the lobby or joining after a match, my computer shuts down. i noticed my ups reaches up to 668w and drops as low as 436w. i attempted to disable the gpu overclock and set power limits to 90%. even after reinstalling the game multiple times, the issue persists. my hardware includes a 5900x cpu, zotac 3080 gpu, 16gb ram, gskill 3200mhz, msi b450 tomahawk motherboard, and an evga 850 bq 80 plus bronze power supply.
I think the issue might be your PSU's efficiency. Even though it can deliver up to 668W, not all of that power reaches your system. With a 3080 motherboard, you're missing sufficient power output for your setup. I suggest using a more efficient power supply, since 30 series cards can have brief power spikes that stay hidden.
Consider adjusting the voltage settings to reduce power consumption. If it helps, you might need a more robust power supply. Corsair RMx and Be Quiet Straight Power 11 work well. Apex tends to draw a lot of power in the lobby (around 110W when gaming, 80W otherwise), which could point to a PSU issue.
I received an update and now have a Corsair 850 Watt gold power supply. Despite the issues, I managed to play for about three hours.
