I am using a Core 2 Quad q8400 with 2.66ghz @2.00ghz and 3gb RAM, currently paired with an SVB cooler. I plan to switch to the stock cooler. The processor is rebooting at normal speeds due to overheating and is running at 2.00ghz. Will switching to the stock cooler improve its performance to match the OC of my CPU? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

what makes a svb cooler better
generally, an aftermarket cooler performs more effectively than a stock one.
you're right about the reason for rebooting—cooler performance matters.
make sure you're clearly understanding what you're changing before taking any steps.

it's a brand SVB, I believe, and it operates at a very low RPM. I've checked it against standard RPMs required for such processors.
