Shutdown delay for BF4
Shutdown delay for BF4
Before purchasing my gaming PC, I used to play on my laptop mainly for BF4. My laptop ran Windows 8.1 with an HDD, while my stationary setup had two SSDs in RAID 0 and was running Windows 7. The odd issue was that pressing <Alt>+<F4> would instantly stop the game, but on the new machine it displayed a black screen with the loading wheel before shutdown. How can I resolve this? Probably won’t harm any data since most of it is stored remotely, but could there be software to speed up the game exit? Thanks!
The black screen is typical and serves no purpose. Every time you launch the game, Task Manager opens automatically, but it takes an excessive amount of time to close without any cause. You may need to force it.
You're not alone in this problem. Closing the game often leads to a black screen with the loading icon appearing, followed by a white screen before it closes. It seems like the game is trying to sync data to Battlenet, but it doesn't last long.
Don't have to open Task Manager right away unless you want to, otherwise it's just as simple later on... I've used this from the start. Pressing Alt-F4 to exit makes it go dark, then switching to Alt-Tab quickly closes Task Manager.
It seems the system unexpectedly ended the game. This happened by chance, but you can definitely stop it now using the Alt + F4 shortcut.
Previously, it would take 10 to 60 seconds to stop it, and I’m not sure if your laptop does it immediately.
