Shut down the active hard disk device.
I was changing drive assignments and mistakenly pressed the 'mark as active' button on my Games HDD, which doesn’t run an operating system. Now each time I start up, it shows ‘bootmgr is missing’ and after about an hour of troubleshooting I’ve ended up booting into Windows again. I need to delete my ‘G:’ drive from being marked as active because this keeps happening every time I power on my PC.
START THE PROCESS BY LAUNCHING COMMAND PROMPT.
ENTER DISKPART TO SHOW YOUR DISKS.
CHOOSE THE DISK YOU WANT TO MANAGE.
ENTER THE PARTITION NUMBER FOR THE INCORRECT ONE.
NEXT STEP LIST DISKS, SELECT THE DESIRED PARTITION FROM THE LIST.
USE THE COMMAND TO MARK IT AS ACTIVE.
FINALLY, DEACTIVATE THE ACTIVE SECTION WITH THE APPROPRIATE TEXT.
