Hey everyone, I’m really frustrated because Windows 10 has shuffled my desktop icons three times now after I let the PC sit. I spent hours setting them up perfectly, and now it’s all mixed up again. It takes about 15 minutes each time, and this keeps happening since I’ve had a Windows machine before. Do you know if there’s a way to fix it and restore things back to normal? I’m feeling really upset about having to do this again. Thanks a lot!

Do you have several screens set up, with at least one showing through a display port? The connection drops when the screen isn’t active, which can mess up any shortcuts on that display. Windows 10 also struggles a lot with managing multiple monitors and driver updates.

This clearly shows the cause. Generally, I reset Windows quickly and it often restores them to their original state.

Thanks for the tip! I’d suggest a few free options depending on your needs.

Absolutely, I remember those days when I used just VGA or DVI. Updating the video drivers didn’t really solve the problem.

This software functions well, with a one-click restoration option: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-En...lity.shtml

Ensure no automatic sorting is active for the desktop folder.

Do you want to know what happens when you right-click the desktop?
