I've tested both suggestions. The top slot now uses Gen 3 instead of auto/gen 5. PCIe is set to default graphics, not CPU, and the IGPG multimonitor was already off. It saved and rebooted without issues—DP in GPU and HDMI in MMO worked perfectly. After turning it off and swapping HDMI to the GPU, the same response occurred. No boot was achieved. Appreciate the ideas, but they didn't work out.

Noted, I've repeated the setup before the graphics mode changes again.

Newer Bios are accessible at the provided link. Check MSI Live Update for availability.

The MSI update might not detect the GPU because the BIOS settings have been reset. It’s best to use NVflash and install the latest BIOS version from your list.

I’d test updating to the newest release, though it’s my decision.

Located the BIOS update section, scanned successfully. The screen displayed briefly before creating a duplicate of my main display. No GPU BIOS detected via the tool. I’ve saved GPUZ to confirm full system visibility; it’s working properly. I plan to run a test with a second 1080 in about an hour and will report the outcome. It appears to be an EVGA model, so I’ll try it out before making any changes. Could another component like the Hyte riser card be affecting performance? Unlikely given its current operation.

Installed EVGA FTW 1080, changed both screens onto it, same problem as before—no startup. Swapped HDMI to the motherboard, entered BIOS, reset PCIE to Gen 3 instead of Gen 5 (previously set to 5) and attempted to apply default graphics from CPU to PCIE. Restarted into BIOS again; it returned to CPU priority. Logged into Windows—didn’t see it at first, drivers needed installation, probably because this was a different card. I plan to power down and try swapping it once more just to check driver compatibility. If that fails, I’ll consider flashing a new BIOS. It seems the riser card might be the issue, which doesn’t make much sense. Interestingly, when only HDMI is connected to the GPU, it boots normally, but adding the main display prevents it. This card performed well with both connections in my old system. Is this a motherboard limitation? That’s the only thing changing, which is what I’m focusing on.

The control interface confirms that replacing the secondary screen with the GPU functions properly once the device powers on.

Looking for suggestions from others before proceeding. Flashing is really unsettling for me.
