You don't require the 4-pin connector. Use just the 24 and 8-pin ones. The 4-pin is meant for advanced overclocking. The photo I shared has the '18' LEDs illuminated.
Not particularly noteworthy. No LEDs at 18 or 5. Experimented with various RAMs.
The main issue you might face is updating the BIOS, using Flashback, and reading the manual instructions. This processor has been supported since the motherboard came out, so changes are unlikely. A quick question: if fans are spinning, are you connected to a monitor via the GPU while you post?
As the fans rotate, the sole link remains the 24pin to the motherboard, with no other connection. Once the screwdriver ignites startup, the fans begin (CPU cooler, CPU radiator, and fan linked to the radiator). It’s unclear if “radiator” is accurate, but it’s the component connected via two wires to the CPU and cooler.
I can capture an image of your current motherboard configuration, including the graphics card. It seems we might be missing a small component here. By the way, make sure to link the monitor to the rear of the graphics card (such as GTX 970), not the back of the motherboard. As previously noted, the 8-pin CPU connector is essential, while the 4-pin beside it is optional. Do you notice the ASUS logo on the BIOS screen at all? Or is there nothing visible? The Ryzen 3900XT should work with your motherboard right out of the box. The Ryzen 3900 XT is compatible with BIOS version 0315 and later — 0315 was released on July 3, 2020. It would be wise to update the BIOS as well; the latest non-BETA version is 1202, dated October 29, 2020.
