Shows random interruptions while playing
Hey there, friends. As the title suggests, both my monitors tend to power down completely during intense gaming sessions and need a restart to resume normally. I've only experienced this in games with lots of graphics, like Helldivers 2 and Baldur's Gate 3. In contrast, titles such as Lethal Company or Minecraft (with shaders) don’t have this problem. It seems the issue arises when the GPU is under heavy load. After some research, it looks like power delivery might be the culprit—possibly related to the 3070 chip or even the monitors themselves. I’m hoping someone can help me get my setup back in shape. To be honest, I’m fairly tech-savvy but still new to building this kind of rig. Should I replace the power supply? Is a new graphics card necessary? Or should I adjust any settings? Thanks, metroidmckay
Your power supply unit should handle all your hardware unless it's faulty. When the screens fade, do your computer still respond with sound and activity? If only the monitors disappear, the graphics card might be the problem. I’d suggest inspecting the video cables first, though it’s unlikely both would fail simultaneously during gaming. For GPU concerns, consider reducing its power limit using software like MSI Afterburner—starting at -25% or 75% can help assess stability. If you’re considering a replacement, look for options that allow free returns if needed. Most retailers and repair services support this process. Just confirm ahead of time and request documentation if possible.
