Shows intermittent activity when system starts
Hey everyone! I've been experiencing some issues with my PC lately. Normally it starts up fine, fans work, and everything functions properly. But every Sunday afternoon, after a couple of hours outside, I leave the house and turn off the computer. Once I power it back on, the GPU stays at 55°C, the fans don't spin, and the screen flickers between nothing and the login screen. It only shows briefly before locking up. The keyboard and mouse still respond. This happens every Sunday. On other days when the PC is off for about eight hours, it boots up just fine. I have an ITX build with these components: ASRock Z690M motherboard, Intel 12th gen i7 Aorus RTX 3070 Ti, 2 G.Skill RAM sticks, and 16GB of RAM. I suspect the problem might be related to the BIOS, but I'm not sure how to update it safely.
Shutting off HOT, what are your idle temps ? Did you build it yourself or had a store build it ? Thermal paste problem perhaps ?
The temperatures hover between 28 and 35°C. I assembled the system myself in May 2022, so I wouldn't attribute the problem to thermal paste.
High temperatures come from various causes, such as improper paste application. Often, non-experts face issues due to not configuring margins for cooling fans or systems. CPU cooling settings are adjusted in BIOS—40% at 40°C and 100% at 60°C. GPU settings follow a similar pattern but via drivers in Windows.
