Shows freezes, system is unresponsive
I have a 9700k and a 3080. After installing the new driver for my 3080, my screen freezes when I open Chrome, Edge, Steam, or any game in fullscreen. I can resolve this by switching inputs on my TV using the remote—changing from 2 to 3, then 3 to 2. Changing HDMI cables didn’t help. I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, but it didn’t fix the issue either. I’ve applied all available Windows updates this morning. The only thing I haven’t tried is connecting the computer to another TV that was previously used for input. I’m not sure what’s causing the problem.
It seems the issue might be with the monitor itself rather than Windows. Have you checked your system on another display? I’m not sure why a monitor would cause these problems.
I connected it to my Samsung 49-inch TV and the issue disappeared. Still, my 900Hz on all inputs is problematic—it's my living room TV and it's much bigger than my bedroom one.
