I just put in a 3070 to swap out my 1080ti. The issue started because the GPU was given to me by a friend who also had an R11, even though he contacted Dell for a replacement and asked to keep the GPU. He used it for a couple of months before it began acting up. Now my current setup has a CPU of 5800X MOTHERBOARD: TUF Gaming x570-Plus (Wi-Fi) and a GPU of DELL OEM NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 with 8GB GDDR6. The fans are working fine, but after launching any game it runs for under an hour. Then my second monitor goes black, the game works but the cursor disappears, frames freeze, and I have to restart manually. After a restart it restarts normally but shows errors. It’s faster this way to reach the desktop. I’ve changed drivers over the past year and a half, tried different RAM, thermal paste, and even reset BIOS settings. Updated the GPU BIOS to Gen 4 PCI and ran games in DX11 with Safe Mode graphics. There’s a Reddit thread that matches my problem, but no clear fix found.
It seems the product isn't covered under the warranty anymore, so they might just return it. I experienced a similar problem with a 980ti—after getting a new power supply it worked fine—but this one behaved differently, with apps crashing instead of the whole system failing. I still think it's a software issue, but at that point I guess I'm just managing.

What makes it stand out is that my friend is experiencing the same problem even after receiving a new Dell card.
