Imgur link provided highlights how modern graphics cards and new game releases are pushing display technology forward. Many PC players are embracing Ultra Wide (21:9) and Eyefinity/Surround displays, like myself. I aimed to clearly illustrate the impact of aspect ratio on your gaming experience. This video explains why screen dimensions and resolution often confuse people, showing how ultra-wide formats expand the visual field consistently across different resolutions.

This seems really great, now just hoping the prices drop on the monitors...

Great choice. Widescreen looks superior to 3x1080p. I’ll stick with 1x1080p for a while, I believe.

I’m not entirely sure about my reaction. The sides are more visible, but the center is farther away, which is a key area in games such as Battlefield.

The setting doesn't function properly in TF2 because the field of view stays at 90 degrees regardless of resolution.

You're mistaken. the middle isnt farther away. Lookat the 5th image with the superimposed layover. It shows you that nothing actually changes to the view, it's just wider. The centeral 16:9 aspect ratio area in the 32:9 aspect ratio is exactly the same as if there wasn't 16:9. The center isnt farther away, it's just that the images have extra space and vision that you can see. It looks different because the images are shifted in size on the forum. Here's an adjusted image that helps show this:

I’d prefer options without needing much money or powerful GPUs. My 2 970s should work fine for now on a 1440p display. Eventually, though, I hope to set up an ultrawide configuration—three 21:9 monitors would be incredible.

That's an interesting question! I don't have personal ownership, but I can tell you about 21:9 monitors if you're curious.

Would love to have two 21:9 screens set up at my workspace.
