The CMOS seems to be malfunctioning. I'm considering purchasing a simple mini PC and using the VESA mounts on my TV for it.

I have conducted multiple builds using an In-Win case with AMD CPUs featuring integrated graphics, mounting them on the back of affordable TVs. Keep in mind the VESA mount size differences—PC and AV mounts vary significantly. I regret not researching these details earlier, but you’ll notice them when you look deeper. (adapter)
I found the experience rewarding and space-efficient. The best advice is to schedule a reminder to revisit and clean it up. Out of sight, out of mind... or something similar.

I don't rely heavily on that unit, so making another kit won't be practical. My current PC is an ACER I obtained at a much lower price than what a homemade version would have cost.

Right. I own a new PC that already comes with Windows 11 installed. I need to remove it and set up Windows 10. I understand the media creation tool can generate an ISO for 10, but I don’t have access to the product key for the old system. What choices do I have?

Why did you purchase a PC running Win 11 when you didn’t intend to use it?
You’re aware that Win 10 will stop receiving updates in October of this year, correct?
There’s only a minimal distinction between versions 10 and 11.

1) The details didn't mention the OS.
2) Win10 might disappear but I won't switch to win11. That's settled.
3) There are many differences. The start screen is bad, with too many interruptions and issues. It has more security risks, bloatware, and spyware. Mandatory software accounts increase spyware and data theft chances. OneDrive has annoying screens. Outlook (New) keeps getting patches and fixes due to weak coding. It goes on forever.

If you don't have that information recorded and the previous Windows 10 version isn't functioning, your choices are Slim or None. You might try logging into your MS account to check if the old system is listed there. Of course, this only works if you connected the Win 10 license to your MS account.

There are numerous YouTube videos that could help someone understand how to secure Windows 11 better from Microsoft, but it’s important to be prepared for checking many boxes during the installation process. Learning these details through research can give you more control.

It really seems more like stubbornness and fear of change than genuine concerns. USAfret has a point—it's essentially the same OS with only small differences, and many of those can be fixed easily.
Start screen not great? Fine! More issues, security vulnerabilities? Windows 11 is more secure than any previous version, including Windows 10. Mandatory Microsoft accounts? Definitely not—I set up new Windows 11 machines with local accounts regularly. OneDrive can be fully turned off and documents moved to local storage, no hassle at all. Nag screens? I don’t know what you’re referring to, but you can disable almost all widgets and other annoying notifications and ads. Constant updates, fixes, and bugs? This has been Windows for about 20 years. If version 10 isn’t getting much support anymore, it’s probably because it’s an almost outdated OS.
And yes, after October, support for Windows 10 ends, so you’ll have to either adapt or stick with an unsupported version and all the risks that come with it.
