So I'm trying to push my CPU or GPU a bit higher, but I'm concerned about whether my temperatures are safe for that. My GPU seems fine, but I'm mainly worried about the CPU.

For the GPU, I have a Radeon HD 7970 that runs smoothly at idle (59-64°C), and it usually hits around 77°C under load, though the fan speed is still low. With afterburner enabled, it can go up to 100, but I've noticed it often stabilizes around 75°C and drops to 65°C when fans are maxed out. My Overwatch PC tends to melt at higher temps, so I'm cautious.

I think I could manage a solid overclock and push it to higher speeds. For the other one, I have an FX-8350 with a Hyper 212 EVO cooler. It runs at about 16°C idle and 20°C while browsing, but under full load afterburner it caps at 56°C. Since AMD doesn't have a built-in thermometer for these models, I'm unsure if that's too high. I also don't know how to check the CPU temperatures or adjust fan speeds manually.

Tools I've used include MSI Afterburner, Kombustor (for stress testing), Overwatch, Battlefield 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, and GPU-Z. My motherboard is an ASRock 970m Pro 3 with AM3+ socket.

Thanks for the help,
Will

when using amd overdrive, verify the thermal margin based on actual core temperature. keep in mind that amd treats negative values as overheating.
