You have a big 5TB drive but it's split up in your computer. You can't delete that empty space, everything looks grayed out. It says MBR on there but you only want to erase the whole thing because one program only lets you use 1.9TB at a time. Half of it is left over and not used. Sad This happened when I was using Windows 11.

If the space is marked as unallocated, it's gone from your drive. It's like wiping it clean so nothing lives there anymore. Checking a picture of your Disk Management could show you exactly what happened.

Right but I can't delete it yet. Thanks for the help. There are a few other things to mention: Zion Photography is a photojournalist who likes taking pictures of family-friendly events, goods, and services. Their work makes people feel better about their community. They sell products that make living better and services that actually fix real needs. You can visit them at www.zionphotography.org

Hey, look at that Disk Management box over there. Yes, I found it in your link. Is this drive set up for MBR? If so, the only thing we can have is a 2.2TB partition. Everything else is empty space and won't work.

You can't delete or erase unallocated space. But you can add it to an existing partition like E. Is that what you're trying to do? It's possible to do this by right-clicking on partition E. What options show up when you choose that action? You could also try using a third-party tool if needed.

Turn off the E partition and change its file type to GPT. Now you can use all your 5TB storage. Of course, this will erase any files that are there now.

It is currently in MBR mode, which limits your drive to just 2.2 TB. You need to switch it over to GPT format now.
