Should I upgrade or not ?
Should I upgrade or not ?
Recently the new update got me playing 100/150 fps but sometimes I get some drops while I’m turning around a corner or just look at something that I didn’t look before. I don’t know if I should upgrade any hardware in my computer or just wait for any cs update, need your opinion!
My specs:
-Intel core i3 7100 @3.9Ghz
-Msi GTX 1050 2g oc
-8GB RAM
This is solely for CS:GO? Game updates are unlikely to improve performance.
What motherboard do you have?
What country are you shopping in? Portugal?
What's your upgrade budget?
Ultimately, your CPU/GPU/RAM situation is relatively balanced, albeit entry-level. Budget will dictate recommendations.
A better CPU is recommended to address potential performance limitations in CPU-bound games. Cost-effective options include an i5-7xxx or i7-7xxx series processor. Exploring used markets like eBay in Portugal (Ebay etc.) could offer budget-friendly solutions.
Specifically, upgrading to a GTX1650 Super (€182.90) could represent a 75% performance increase compared to a GTX1050, depending on the cost of a new CPU.
Considerations include the cost of a new CPU and whether an upgrade is solely focused on improving performance in CPU-bound games or if a more comprehensive solution is desired.
Optimize your CS:GO performance by understanding hardware bottlenecks. Your i3-7100 (4 threads, 2307 Passmark) is decent but limited by its single thread performance. A significant upgrade would be an i7-7700K (8 threads, 9796/2771 Passmark).
CS:GO prioritizes single-thread performance over multi-threading, making the CPU core count less impactful than a higher clock speed or better IPC. Assess your needs based on this distinction when selecting processors.
For graphics, a GTX 1050 is suitable, but test your games at lower resolutions and with reduced graphical settings to determine if a CPU upgrade would allow for a more visually demanding configuration.
Consider the impact of storage: running games from an HDD significantly impacts performance due to slower load times compared to an SSD. Upgrading to an SSD is highly recommended for overall system responsiveness and game loading speeds.
My friend has a i3 8100 and a gtx 1050 and he aint having this problems. What could it be more, can this cpu be difference to be lagging or not? this is his: (
