Should i switch to linux?
This approach seems ideal. I rely on the same method; my system has an SSD running Windows while a HDD supports Linux. Be aware that using a HDD for Linux might make it feel sluggish compared to Windows, especially after getting accustomed to the speed of an SSD.
Linux is the go-to choice for most tasks. Some gamers are switching to flatpaks, but that might spread to others. Consider using a separate SSD for Windows and running QEMU/KVM. AMD GPUs work well on Linux—just plug in and boot. No issues with Nvidia binaries. Short version: yes, it fits.
you're going to face restrictions in gaming, source titles are the main option, many indie games will work but AAA games won't be based on Frostbite, no Battle.net or COD support, so it'll be significantly less. (I run Linux on a single PC and one server)
You can't rely on Photoshop but GIMP works well. Most Windows apps run in Wine about 95%. Linux gaming isn't great yet, but it's improving daily. For gamers, I suggest using a dual boot—Linux for general use and Windows for games—since Windows performs better in gaming. In my view, Linux shines for other tasks too.
