About three months ago, I replaced all the main parts in my system (cpu, mobo, ram, gpu) after my old and worn-out system stopped working. I didn't reinstall windows after the upgrade, just installed the required motherboard drivers and there were no problems except my headset sometimes disconnecting and losing audio. Recently, while checking background tasks, I saw usb3monitor.exe running and it’s also set to start with windows. I realize this program was part of my previous motherboard's drivers because it had a VIA controller for USB 3.0. Is it safe to stop this program from starting with windows or remove it completely, since the new motherboard doesn’t have a VIA USB controller? Could it be the reason for my headset occasionally disconnecting?

It might be helpful to remove it, though this could not be the reason for your headset problems.

I understand, there might be several possibilities and it's hard to recreate the issue, so I'm attempting to eliminate all potential causes. The headset is linked to the USB port used for BIOS flashback. I'm not sure if this impacts the port's reliability (very unlikely).

The issue lies in not reinstalling Windows yet. Until that happens, you'll encounter various problems like this, and fixing them will be difficult
