Hello everyone. I’m not in a hurry to purchase an iPad. I haven’t owned one before, so I’m eager to join the ecosystem. My main plans are for media use and occasional gaming. I might also consider getting the Apple Pencil later for some drawing. A 3.5mm headphone jack is essential for me because I have family nearby and need privacy while watching content. Wireless options are costly and often unreliable, so a wired setup makes more sense. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If you wait indefinitely, you won’t purchase anything, and I think you’ll require a modest adapter cable to connect your 3.5 mm headphone jack. These adapters are affordable and also function with the devices.

Since the iPad 10 could offer better value at the same cost, we still don't have the exact specifications. Based on my reading, it should feature an A14 Bionic Chip and a sleeker design akin to the iPad Air, but with smaller bezels.

Understanding how Apple sets prices for their latest models, I'd expect the iPad 10 to be similar in cost to the iPad 9.

Wait for the iPad 10 release, then evaluate which model suits your needs best for the specific task. There are also USB-C dongles with a headphone jack and charging port. It's a dongle, but you don't need to choose between doing one thing or the other.

There is no chance that it’s going to be cheaper it’s going to be more expensive and you can count on it take that to the bank so you better buy the one you can afford
I hate to break it to you but the good old days of low prices are gone and they’re not coming back ever
If you’ve got the money and you want one buy one now or you’ll forever be waiting for the next one coming out and that’s my point. If you want a premium product you’re going to pay a premium price there is not going be "any cheaper" involved.
