I recently set up a new system and always switch to the latest OS. Once all apps are installed, I notice a Windows 11 Pro free upgrade option in the taskbar corner. My machine has an AMD 3900X, 32GB RAM at 3200MHz, and a 3070 Ti FTW3 graphics card. If it matters, it’s a custom loop water-cooled CPU and GPU setup. My concerns are: Is upgrading to Windows 11 Pro safe for AMD users? Do I need additional components during the upgrade? Could performance drop with AMD CPUs or Nvidia GPUs? Is this upgrade worth it compared to upgrading from 10 Pro?

The latest fix has caused some hiccups with NVIDIA. It’s best not to install the newest version yet, as weeks have gone by. Windows 11 still works fine. Personally, I find it a bit annoying because it adds extra steps to everyday tasks, though it’s manageable otherwise.

I enjoy the basic version of Windows 11. However, if you're looking for home specifically to use remote software and require more memory or similar upgrades, it might not be worth it. Plus, there are superior remote tools available now.

Windows 10 remains quite strong and reliable. Windows 11 might feel a bit smoother now.

Never experienced problems during the initial testing of 11 Home. It seems to behave similarly to other versions, right?

Is this really about the 22H2 upgrade? That’s what they’re promoting as the improvement. How significant is the impact? Could it break the game? Since I stream, I’d need to revert if it fails and disrupts my broadcast. I mainly use remoting tools like Teamviewer to assist friends and relatives with PC problems they can’t fix themselves. I understand. Percolate? What do you mean? I just think it’s faster and I really like the folder layout. Lol

Percolate = to cook longer. I'm not sold on Windows 11 being 100% stable and ready yet, though some are. I'm offering my opinion and if others say it's ready for everything you can throw at it... go for it. It's a free upgrade, you can always install Windows 10 back on anytime.

I prefer Windows 11 over Windows 10 more than anything. I installed it right away when it was released and have never looked back. With my laptop running Windows 11, everything works smoothly and it really stands out in appearance.

I'm really appreciating the OS these days compared to W10. It has a contemporary feel.

I was planning to start with Windows 11 Pro, but I learned you need a Microsoft account to proceed without issues. After that, just disable any spyware and see how it goes. It really feels more up-to-date. I’ll check for any lag during my stream or game tonight. Thanks for the tips! I’ll give it a try. *Upgrading now*
