I'm really enjoying it, Steam mentioned I've logged 75 hours (though some of those are launcher hours). I don't know much about the game or read much about it, so please forgive me if I repeat what's obvious. It has a steep learning curve; there are a few basic tutorials. Once you dive in, you're on your own. I believe it took around 10 hours to become proficient, and I'm still researching certain details from time to time. The community seems to be the best gaming group I've encountered—those on the Elite subreddit and official forums are super helpful. You'll find rude people in games; luckily, I haven't met any yet. A guy just stopped me today (forcefully pulled me out of hyperspace) and told me to hand over cargo or he'd shoot me. I said I had none (which was true), and he just flew off. People often criticize the game online (like on Reddit), but honestly, they complain about anything I'd personally take them for a bit too much. There are improvements possible, but overall it's a solid release. I haven't felt this engaged with a game in a long time. The expansion drops tomorrow along with the base game; I'd suggest grabbing it. I've definitely gotten good value from it. The downside is that I'm on a tight budget, so now I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card, setting up a HOTAS rig, and more just for Elite! If you buy it, let me know and I'll add you in-game. EDIT: I had to weigh the pros and cons for a while before deciding whether to buy it, and my biggest regret was delaying the purchase.

Thanks! If I end up purchasing it (I’m hoping to get it around Christmas), I’ll definitely include you!

It runs smoothly and offers a great experience, though I sometimes forget it's been running for hours. I haven't used the mouse and keyboard since the beginning—just a gamepad has been my choice. If you're using KB&M, some default settings might be confusing, but looking up tips should help. Looking forward to seeing you in space!

I got that game about a week ago and it's a space trucking simulator. A GLORIOUSLY AMAZING SPACE TRUCKING SIMULATOR!!! I have not touched any other games since getting this. It's a beautiful, hands on experience with brutal, satisfying combat and great flying mechanics.

It might improve someday, but if developers actually bring it to life, I won't invest. Right now, it feels like a chance game.

Consider this a beta version: purchase only if you believe this is your last chance. Otherwise, hold off until it's officially available.

Sure, let's keep it concise.
We need to ensure a minimum of one year or two before proceeding.
