Should I consider purchasing a new laptop?
I own an HP ProBook 440 G5 (i5 - 8250U - 8gb ram - 512 hd and 256 ssd). The battery is currently in poor condition and drains quickly without being connected to a power source.
It's a work laptop with regular use—primarily office tasks like word documents, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, web browsing, Instagram content creation with Canva, and Zoom meetings.
I'm considering upgrading to an Asus Vivobook GO 15 (Ryzen 5-7520U + 16gb ram + 512 ssd).
My concern is whether my current machine can still function adequately or if I should replace it entirely.
Work laptop? Who is responsible for it?
If you're not self-employed, I assume your employer should handle a new laptop.

How much older is the laptop compared to the battery?

Conduct some tests.
The laptop belongs to me. If I decide to buy a replacement, it would also cost me money. The battery lasts roughly two hours. I purchased the PC in 2018. Regarding the replacement, the battery and service are not inexpensive, so I would only consider changing it if this laptop could last another year or two.
Is a 6-year-old battery suitable? It could be in EOL if it hasn’t reached the end of its life.
Uncertain about replacing the battery with service: usually, just remove the old one and install the new one as if you had an extra battery.
Except for other issues inside the laptop.
Can you run the HP tests or similar checks?

How much are you willing to spend or allocate for a new laptop?
