Hello everyone, I’m considering purchasing a used GPU that’s an RTX 4070 for $320. It has a known issue where the GPU stops working when the PC is turned off and needs to be removed multiple times before it functions again. The seller claimed they repaired it but didn’t, and I’m unsure what the real problem was. I thought maybe the issue was resolved upon reconnection, so they didn’t know the full extent of the problem. I’m not sure if it’s worth buying or if I should go ahead with it to use the PC for gaming.

You might be interested in solving someone's issue because it could help them feel supported or resolved their concerns.

It's really affordable and it functions, but there are potential issues down the line. I didn't mention that I don't have a computer with a GPU.

It's "really cheap" since it's "really broken".

I wouldn't approach it at all! It's damaged and these issues don't resolve by themselves.

Don't go after it. Look for a better offer or consider getting a new graphics card. Perhaps check for an RX 7900 GRE.

Run away from that GPU. It might just need a quick cleaning of the contacts, but that chip could have bigger problems. Get a new one instead.

I'm someone who takes risks with used GPUs, so I also say no on no. If this was $40 and it's an RTX 4070, maybe it's worth a shot. But if you're spending $320, that's a costly gamble—better to pass.

99% of gamblers quit close to winning, probably because they shouldn't keep playing.
