Essentially, always choose a solid board and avoid overspending. For Intel chips, upgrading typically takes about two cycles; once a board like the 12400f loses its edge, the 13900k won’t either. AMD’s approach differs since they span four generations—spending a little more for a higher-tier chipset can be worthwhile if it extends your board’s lifespan. Still, don’t go overboard. By the time a 7600 becomes inadequate, a four-year-old CPU will too. Tl:dr pick a decent board without extra focus on upgrades; buy only if you value future flexibility.
