For numerous players even with a solid configuration using ULTRA and 4K on most titles it remains challenging to achieve a very high frame rate. It's fascinating nonetheless to experience older games and observe their visuals, such as Witcher 2 which still demands significant power even at 4K on one card. The games I've tested so far include Skyrim with ENB and several mods – the performance is impressive. Witcher 2 impresses with its stunning appearance after four years; running it at 60FPS in High-Ultra Red Alert 3 typically requires SLI or a Titan X. I miss the classic titles like Old Command & Conquer and Westwood, yet they still perform adequately and are often overlooked. Left 4 Dead 2 has decent textures, though it still looks acceptable. Titanfall may not be an old game but it runs surprisingly well in 4K. Splinter Cell Conviction was a favorite; I dislike using Uplay. Since I've switched to a 4K display, I feel compelled to revisit some of my past favorites to compare their evolution. Would anyone have additional recommendations?

Starcraft 2 consistently delivers quality, with UI and unit/size dimensions matching 1080p yet sharper. Far Cry 3 impresses in 4K despite needing lower settings for smooth performance; textures are decent but not outstanding. Doom 3 offers good visuals at 4K, though textures are lacking—modding helps. Jedi Academy has mediocre graphics but improves with upscaling. In general, nearly every title shines when viewed at 4K, except those that degrade significantly.

Really hope PC offered better good RTS games. Since Westwood's death, I've lost interest in playing long RTS sessions of 12 or 16 hours.

It's a mix of StarCraft 2, Grey Goo scenarios, and some AOE II action with the HD version. These linear, story-driven shooters have dominated the big-game market for a while. But there might be a shift coming, which is encouraging.
