Shortcut to adjust display resolution
Shortcut to adjust display resolution
I recently purchased two 27-inch 4K monitors and am enjoying them, but in certain games like CS2 I need to adjust my Windows resolution to 1920 x 1080 to enable borderless windows. This allows me to use the second monitor smoothly between rounds. Currently, I have to navigate display settings, change resolutions for each monitor, revert them, and remember it all. Is there a way to create a hotkey that lets me switch resolutions with just one click? I’ve looked into a Google suggestion about a Hotkey resolution changer, but it doesn’t support multiple monitors, so it might not work for my setup. Any advice would be appreciated!
Windows lacks built-in shortcuts for adjusting resolution dynamically. However, third-party tools can assist: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html. Use the setdisplay function or automate with a batch file. Multiple monitor support was introduced in 2010, but no clear examples are available.
I'll experiment with this too and check out batch files—still new to them, but after some research I think I can figure it out. Once I get the hang of it, I'd like to set up some extra keyboard shortcuts.
