Attach a fan if you need to use a tool that PC builders appreciate—Zip ties are useful—and secure it with another Zip tie to your Mb. If the cooler is due in 2–3 days, hold off. The reason for the 70GB hard drive?

I'd just slap it on some paste, done it plenty of times just to test things out, as long as theres good contact it'll transfer enough heat for testing to bios etc
