Short beeps occur during startup of your PC.
Recently, when I power on my PC, it produces five brief beeps and then starts normally. Earlier, during gameplay, a single short beep played and the system continued without issue. I’m unsure if this is connected but notice that under heavy loads, my PC shuts down completely when the CPU and GPU hit around 65 degrees Celsius. The cooling setup seems adequate since it’s not a stock cooler, and my GPU has three fans too.
Visit the website of your motherboard maker and look for the beep codes, specifically the five beeps during startup.
I believe the problem isn't related to temperature, but more likely a power concern. The 550W PSU might not be delivering enough power, causing it to shut down. Even if it worked before, the aging of the PSU makes it weaker now. How old is the PSU?
Five short beeps on your motherboard usually indicate a missing CPU, but since it boots up and everything works, it probably isn't the main issue.
Things you might attempt:
- Update BIOS to the latest version
- Reseat the RAM and CPU (starting with RAM)
- Check for loose connections
