Shifting to a Ryzen setup A few queries about Ryzen systems
3600 and 3700X offer strong value based on your thread count needs. They provide better per-core performance than the 7700k and are typically priced similarly. The 3200Mhz and 3600Mhz options are preferred, with minimal price differences. B450 boards have pros and cons, just like X470 and X570. For these CPUs, a tier D or higher board works well:
B450 models could handle Ryzen 3rd generation well in terms of power, but they may face issues with 3600MHz memory and might require a BIOS upgrade. X570 options are solid overall, so even with higher frequencies like 3700X, lower-end boards should perform adequately.
I don’t expect an upgrade for three years or more, so I considered 3700/3800. There’s a chance I might need x570 if compatibility problems arise. I aim for minimal issues, so a 3600 RAM should work well with it.
