H61m-d used p8z77m bios while H81m-e ran z87m plus bios. In extreme cases you might face boot problems, but since we’re swapping between similar boards without changing brands, it should work fine. I often re-flash my boards and notice issues only when a bios isn’t compatible—just pull it out and reprogram. There’s no risk involved, and my experience supports this.

Emm… After looking for details, I discovered my motherboard doesn’t allow non-K CPUs for overclocking because of Intel’s restrictions, and it lacks an IDT chipset.
