Hey everyone, my friend is planning to assemble a PC. I've done a few builds but haven't really checked the specs in the past couple of years. It's mainly for work tasks—web browsing, YouTube, VS Code, and a bit of streaming. He doesn’t need heavy gaming or video editing. He wants something that runs smoothly, looks good, and performs as fast as my current machine.

Key points:
- OS: Windows 11
- Display: Up to 2 monitors, 1080p streaming at once
- Tasks: Browsing, YouTube, coding, light media
- Budget: Around £400, maybe a bit more if it makes a big difference
- Priorities: Speed, aesthetics, reliability

He asked for these suggestions:
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: GTX 750TI
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB)
Motherboard: Not sure, but I’m thinking MSI MGB 450 Max
Case: Any decent ATX case would work, not a huge concern
Power supply: Needs to be budget-friendly but sufficient power
WiFi: Unknown, I’m aiming for something affordable
Storage: 240GB Kingston SSD + 2GB Seagate Barracuda drive

I believe a 1050 is doable with just a small extra cost. For the motherboard, opt for the cheapest B450 model available. The MSI or ASUS brand isn't important. Get it new if possible. A used PSU is the only alternative, and you can find around £500 for a genuine unit—brands like Thermaltake or MSI might match prices. For the CPU, you can look for a 500W model from brands like Thermaltake or MSI. Sometimes they’re priced similarly. You can use a used CPU if you verify it works. A stock cooler will save a few pennies. The case is personal; ensure it fits correctly. If unsure, post your details here. Wi-Fi performance depends on distance and usage. I can use a low-quality USB adapter, but if you prefer something better: the ASUS AC750 is a good used option. Hope this helps.

It's not necessary to worry. Both micro and standard ATX options work, so you can proceed without concern.

You chose a GPU that lacks driver support, which isn’t sustainable long-term. Opt for an onboard GPU instead.

Prefer 10 series cards—they’re much stronger and cheaper. In the U.S., you can usually find a 1080 for under $100.

GTX 745, 750 and 750 Ti remain supported because they run on Maxwell technology. Purchasing one for £40 (about 47€) seems excessive, but even the GTX 1060 is available near that cost.
