I checked the forum and found no matching thread for Linux Gaming Benchmarks, so I’m creating one. Mods, you can adjust it if needed. I began with Horizon Zero Dawn: benchmarking CPU i7-10875H, GPU 3080 at 115W, using Nvidia drivers, 32GB RAM, CachyOS OS, and linux-cachyos-pds settings. The results show Ultimate Quality with FSR Ultra Quality at 1080p delivering around 91 FPS. Compared to a Windows 3080 laptop GPU averaging about 85 FPS, this Linux setup is roughly 8% faster—considerable for a DX12 title on Nvidia hardware.

It's quite remarkable given the lack of RAM, CPU, or storage in the estimated test. I expected a more robust setup for running a game on a baseline machine with a 3080 chip. No special testing conditions or visual preferences were required.

I didn't search much tbh. Let me give you a screenshot of the systems in question below. It might be wrong but that's what Notebookcheck reports. This is a slightly better CPU and I don't know if they used FSR but that's what's on there. A machine with a 11th gen Intel reached 100 FPS. Keep also in mind though, that this is a 115W GPU, not the full 150W other models can reach. So the difference might be even more impressive.

I ran another benchmark using DLSS and Native. Performance was similar with FSR, while Native was roughly 20% slower. I’m still interested—planning to install a Windows partition on this system tonight to see how it behaves under Windows and sharing a photo afterward.

Here you are, CP 2077. Benchmark indicates it's running on Win 10 Pro, even though it's actually Manjaro. The game runs full screen, but I had to open other apps to capture a screenshot. Resolution is 1440p with an average of 68 fps on an RX 6600. Spoiler alert.

Assassin's Creed Origins performance benchmark shows an i7-10875H processor, a 3080 GPU consuming 115W. Drivers are Nvidia proprietary, with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and CachyOS running Linux. The average frame rate reaches 90 FPS under ultra high settings.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey benchmarks show a CPU of 7900X and GPU of 7900XTX. Drivers are based on Mesa-Git, RAM is 32 GB DDR5, and the OS runs PikaOS with Windows 11 kernel version 6.4.9-pikaos. Settings are set to Ultra High Preset. Average FPS is 114 on Linux (134 on Windows), which is roughly 20% faster for Linux. I note that heavy cloud conditions in AC Odyssey can significantly affect performance, especially during the Linux test.
