Compare the raw gaming and rendering capabilities of a Ryzen 3600 with an RTX 3060 or 3070 against a PC, and assess how it stacks up against next-gen consoles. Let your insights guide the discussion.

These GPUs would outperform a PS5 or XSX. The CPU matches console specs, but getting a 10400F or 11400F with B560 would be ideal.

Many hashtags can be overwhelming to read. Apparently, those consoles were meant for around a 2080 Ti power level, closer to the RTX 3070 than the 3060. Comparing consoles to PCs isn’t always straightforward, because PC games are designed to work with a wide range of hardware setups, while consoles often have limited options—typically just a few models per manufacturer per generation—compared to the vast number of possible PC configurations.

I enjoy my series X within that gaming ecosystem, and I'm gradually moving into PC gaming, appreciating how each serves a unique role.

Windows 11 could support features like Microsoft Velocity on Xbox SX to reduce VRAM usage by leveraging faster SSDs for texture streaming.

I purchased an RTX 3070 for $750, later sold it, then bought an Xbox SX. Gaming on PC became more appealing and flexible, so I bought another RTX 3070 (this time overpriced at $940) and am now considering selling my Xbox. All this happened within six months... it’s a bummer but we’re discovering what we prefer. My current PC is a Ryzen 3600 with 16GB RAM and a 3200 MHz clock.

preferred choice remains PC if games work across all devices, though PS5 and Xbox Game Pass offer better value. Last year I bought several HD Blu-ray players but still couldn’t use them, holding off on the PS5. My graphics card is around 2080, not 2080 Ti, and it’s tuned for those consoles. Having an Xbox without a PC or PS5 gives a solid collection at a lower cost, while a PC with Game Pass plus PS5 covers everything.

Comparing them side by side is quite challenging. For example, R6S on PS5 delivers 120fps at 1080p with an i7 9700f and 2070 graphics card at 1080p, while my setup averages around 340 fps. The PS5 works well, but my console sits idle if I don’t get a better deal.

He likes playing games on his PC more than the consoles because of mods. Right now he’s been enjoying My Summer Car. Who needs to set up those mods? I don’t care about the game itself, but it’s easy to install them.
