You're setting up a direct Ethernet link from your router to your main PC for Minecraft. Since you're on Linux Mint 19.2, you can configure the network settings to route traffic through the router's port forwarding. Try adjusting the IP address and port mappings so the server communicates via the router instead of directly. If using a second switch, ensure it's properly bridged or use a proper NAT setup. Let me know if you need help with specific commands or configurations!

Typically, most switches operate at Layer 2 only, and even those with partial Layer 3 capabilities don’t activate their services by default. It doesn’t seem there’s any valid reason for them to fail in this setup. Could you tell me the model number of the switch you’re using?

Always ensure any unmanaged switch works properly. For smart or managed switches, configurations might vary across interfaces or similar ones.
