Shadowed areas on LG OLED48B46LA device
Hey there, looking for some guidance on your OLED48B46LA. Recently, I’ve seen dark or shadowy patches forming in the bottom-right corner of the screen, especially in low-light conditions like dark videos. Even after trying a pixel refresh via the settings, it hasn’t fixed the issue. The affected areas look like straight, tower-like vertical blocks that aren’t uniform. I’ve attached some pictures if they help. Have anyone else encountered this problem? Could it be a manufacturing flaw or should I try other solutions before contacting LG or Amazon? Thanks in advance!
Hmm... Looks like some kind of weird burn-in artefact. I would vote for defective screen and escalation.
Are there any visible gaps or areas that resemble the burn-in pattern? Even with a fixed window displayed, this issue appears to persist. It seems there might be a problem, making a repair or replacement the likely solution.
No screen element matches the shape—no game or app appears. I contacted LG support through their site, but the discussion ended without resolution. The chat disappeared immediately after they requested feedback, and they closed it once I restarted my TV. They claimed the problem stemmed from an incorrect aspect ratio setting, though the TV’s default setting is locked and hidden, making adjustments impossible. They asked for a factory reset, which I performed, but during installation I still saw the shapes. This confirmed their theory wasn’t valid.
