I'm just starting out with PCs and gaming in general, and I recently built a system. I also upgraded my GPU from a Gigabyte Radeon 590 to a Gigabyte Aorus 2070 Super. When I began playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider, after some time I left it on pause and when I returned the game closed down and the PC restarted. Since then, whenever I try to launch the game at low or high settings, it opens Steam and the game start menu, but when I click to start the game my internet drops and the cursor freezes, along with the rest of the system. The only solution I've found is pressing the reset button on my tower. Battlefield V behaves differently—it loads Origin and then crashes immediately. I can play games like Modern Warfare, Borderlands 3, Fortnite, and most other titles without issues. Any help would be really appreciated. As a new PC user who has paid for these games, I'm hoping this problem gets resolved.

I'm not very familiar with the technical aspects, but both Battlefield V and Tomb Raider use ray tracing. Have you experimented with using RTX disabled?

I haven't tested them without the RTX. But I've tried running Tomb Raider in different modes—fullscreen, windowed, DirectX12 on and off—and nothing changed. It was working with DirectX12 off before I upgraded my GPU.

I completed a DDU check and noticed my computer still recognized my Radeon 590 and certain drivers. I removed those and the Nvidia drivers, then performed a fresh installation. However, the problem persists.

Have you ever tried to resolve it? I’m facing the same problems again. I have 500 games on Steam, and these two games frequently crash my PC when starting up 95% of the time. Replacing my USB sticks once worked, but after a week I came back and realized the headset I used might have been the issue.

I adjusted the power settings to keep the CPU between 20% and 90% during idle, which resolved the crashes.
