Determine your available space on the C: drive by checking AMD or Nvidia GPU usage. The shader cache is saved in a folder on C:; AMD cards often rebuild their shader cache more often than Nvidia. In the Nvidia control panel, you can adjust the cache size limit to 100GB if needed. Disk cleanup tools sometimes remove this DirectX cache because it can become quite large.

The update might need a new build. It’s not related to any hardware problems.

I thought about it, but everything is still pending manual work. That’s why I became concerned. Is this a major problem—could it be related to the GPU or the CPU?

Neither STALKER 2 nor other titles perform a quick shader compilation at startup. It often acts as a "check" instead of a full compile. With major updates, the process can take over five minutes or more. This behavior is common in some games and isn't a problem.

It's just a simple thing games do these days, though it might not be the best approach every time. It could be a hardware problem, maybe. Try DDU if you haven't already.
