I noticed some unusual overheating behavior with my upgraded system. When launching AMD Adrenalin or Ryzen Master, the CPU temperature would spike to around 90°C for a short period before dropping to about 70°C at higher loads. The Aorus Elite 570X motherboard runs with the latest BIOS, and the cooler is set to maximum. I've followed several troubleshooting steps: replaced the cooler twice, cleaned the paste thoroughly, verified the power settings were correct, and even adjusted the SOC voltage in BIOS. Despite these efforts, temperatures still reached high levels during startup. I'm worried about inaccurate readings and fear turning it on now. Could anyone help clarify what's happening?

there are signs of a mechanical issue with your cooler or mount. apply gentle downward pressure to align it properly against the CPU/mobo. use roughly the same force you'd need when installing RAM. keep an eye on the CPU temperatures; a drop indicates improvement. if nothing changes, the pump may be faulty. alternatively, connect the pump directly to a 12v supply rather than through a header. it could be a PWM model with four wires instead of three, possibly running at low speed on the motherboard and struggling to handle the load.

I turned it back on and noticed a lot of gurgling from the pump. It looks like it was airlocked before. Now it seems to be working well again. Idle is around 35-40°C, and it’s running a single core benchmark in Cinebench R32. I still reach 90°C, which is normal. I’ll probably tweak the PBO settings to see if I can get better performance. I know the AIO isn’t installed perfectly, but I had no other option. The whole problem really motivates me to consider a new case, though I think it should be fine now. Thanks for your help—I appreciate it.

Absolutely, with that setup, if there was even a bit of air, it would be caught at the pump. Once it functions properly, it remains operational since it isn't the tallest point.
