I've noticed significant memory issues leading to crashes and freezing after installing a new CPU fan and adjusting the motherboard. I'm unsure if physically pressing the board or using a fan caused the problem. I've attempted CCLEANER and a system cleanup, but results have been disappointing.

Your second paragraph suggests you need to verify if there’s an actual memory leak or if another factor like a faulty CPU fan is misleading. It questions whether the issue stems from RAM traces or physical damage. You might want to test your memory or try a different setup. A memory leak would be easier to resolve, but if it’s hard to track, you could consider restarting Windows or reinstalling it.

Occasionally I can end the program by opening Task Manager, which then displays the game at the forefront with over 1,600MB of memory consumption. I also needed to install new drivers and update Windows 10.

If it remains unresolved after a fresh Windows setup, the issue likely stems from hardware rather than software. Without directly inspecting the device, it’s possible you damaged the connections while adding a new fan.

You might want to consider some alternatives before purchasing a new motherboard.

Avoid underestimating the system before experimenting. Adjust BIOS configurations first. Update the firmware, disable overclocking if available, lower clock speeds if possible. Ensure the new fan installation didn’t cause issues—monitor temperatures to confirm stability. Restore original BIOS settings. If these steps fail, replacement may be necessary.

You noticed the PC doesn’t let you access BIOS after installing the fan. The screen you expected—showing ESC or another key—just displays the login screen without any windows logo. Pressing ESC alone doesn’t open BIOS, and holding it makes the screen go black with a "No connection detected" message. Your temperatures are better than before, but you’re unsure about overclocking and downclocking.

You're using a UEFI setup that bypasses the boot screen, likely due to incorrect keyboard input. The correct method involves pressing DELETE while holding the power button.

You meant DEL and the other key is likely F2 or similar. Thanks for clarifying. Also, your BIOS settings appear to function correctly now—previously, after installing the fan, it skipped the BIOS screen and Windows logo, but that’s no longer happening. Apologies for the confusion.
