Hi, I own an old laptop that's been experiencing severe overheating. The issue has caused external damage, leaving burnt marks on the device. It seems the problem started from using it only for browsing and YouTube. (Image link: https://imgur.com/a/eovgqyt)

The Windows 7 laptop with a Dual Core CPU seems outdated, and the internal fan may have stopped working. Is it still able to power on?

Yes, it seems like the fan is still running, but I'm not entirely confident. Could be the issue is with something else?

The old AMD laptop has burned the inner lining of its case. If your machine makes a lot of noise, consider cleaning the vents or replacing the fan with help.

I have made the changes myself and cleaned it well already.

What is in the area of the damage? I don't think anything that hot would be going through that area of the palmrest, the CPU and other chips that get hot are usually towards the top of the laptop not the bottom by the palmrest. You need to open it and actually look at what is happening there. There it nothing anyone can do over the internet, you need to look at the thing yourself and see what is causing this.

My laptop also became very hot a few weeks ago. It wasn't due to dust or old thermal paste. I believe I applied too much new thermal paste during the replacement, and the heatsink might have been tightened a bit more.
It's not always just dirt or old thermal paste.
The buttons below the trackpad really need to be replaced. Perhaps some double-sided tape, some black plastic, or even just strips of electrical tape would work. That's what I used and it's functioning now. Better than nothing.
